Trenchless Sewer Repair

When Trenchless Sewer Repair is the Right Fix

Cracked or offset pipe joints with intact pipe walls
Root damage where the pipe itself isn't collapsed
Mild belly or sag in the line
Old clay or Orangeburg sewer lines
Sewer running under a driveway, patio, or addition
Mature landscaping you don't want destroyed

Two trenchless methods, two different jobs

CIPP lining (cured-in-place pipe) installs a resin-saturated liner inside your existing sewer, then cures it into a new pipe-within-a-pipe. It works when the host pipe still has structure. Pipe bursting pulls a new HDPE pipe through the route of the old one, fracturing the old pipe outward. It works when the host pipe is too damaged to line. The camera tells us which one your line needs — and sometimes neither is a fit and traditional excavation is the right answer.

What trenchless actually saves you

A traditional sewer replacement on a 60-foot line under landscaping in Leawood means a 60-foot trench, destroyed sod, severed sprinkler lines, and a 3-foot mound of backfill that settles for a year. Trenchless replaces that with two access pits — typically one at the house and one at the city tap — and the entire line is replaced or lined in between, underground. You don't lose the yard.

When trenchless isn't right

Trenchless isn't magic. If the line is fully collapsed, severely bellied, has a major offset that the bursting head can't follow, or doesn't have access points on both ends, traditional excavation is the right call. We tell you when that's the case instead of selling you trenchless and bailing out halfway through.

How Trenchless Sewer Repair Works

1

Camera inspection

Confirm trenchless is the right call before quoting.

2

Measure and quote

Line length, access points, trenchless vs. traditional side-by-side.

3

Permits and prep

City permits, utility locates, two small access pits dug.

4

Install liner or burst new pipe

CIPP cured in place OR new HDPE pulled through old route. Camera-verified before backfill.

Trenchless Sewer Repair — Frequently Asked

Does the new pipe last as long as a traditional replacement?

Yes — usually longer. HDPE bursting installs and CIPP liners both carry 50-year material warranties. The host pipe is no longer the load path; the new pipe is.

How do you get the new pipe under my driveway without digging it up?

Two access pits — one at the house side of the obstruction, one at the city side. The new pipe is pulled through underneath. The driveway never gets touched.

Why are some trenchless quotes so much cheaper than yours?

Usually because the cheap quote skips the camera, skips the permit, or uses a thinner liner. We won't quote without a camera and we won't install without a permit. Compare apples to apples.
